Yesterday Afternoon's Bible Study |
"Thanking God for His blessings is an integral part of a Christian's relationship with Him. But we should consider other ways to live with gratitude that isn't limited to saying "thank you."
In this afternoon's Psalm, King David encourages us to "come before his presence with singing." Often, a song can express what we are feeling in our hearts even better than speaking words. This form of praise isn't limited to the four walls of the church--we can worship God wherever we are, whatever we are doing.
The Psalm also instructs us to serve the Lord "with gladness." Serving God and others demonstrates humility. Whether it's helping someone in need, giving financially, or using our talents and time to bless others, it is a form of gratitude.

Obedience and living a holy life flow out of a heart that is full of thankfulness. We should be grateful for God's love, mercy, grace, and salvation. Instead of pursuing our own pleasures and desires, we can worship God in all we say, think, and do.
When our attitude is focused on honoring God, almost anything can be an act of thanksgiving and praise. God's Spirit can enable us to live in a way that exalts Jesus as we allow Him to direct our thoughts and actions.
