Yesterday Afternoon's Bible Study |
"Our physical health is not that much different from our spiritual health. If we are consistent with or limit what we consume, it affects our overall well-being. It's not difficult to understand the importance of nourishment.
Some people invest large amounts of money in improving their physical appearance and ensuring that their bodies are in optimum health. In our spiritual lives, however, we are not always so careful about tending to the nourishment of our souls.
In John 10:10, Jesus warns of a "thief" whose intent is to rob us of the abundant life God offers. When we neglect reading the Word, spending time with God, and growing in our relationship with Him, we are allowing the enemy to destroy us.

There is a visible contrast in this Scripture between the Good Shepherd, Jesus, and our enemy, the devil. Jesus came to bring us abundant life with purpose and meaning. The devil wants to steal, kill, and destroy us.
If we are in Christ, the devil cannot fulfill his plan … but that doesn't mean he won't try. He can attempt to steal our joy and peace and capitalize on our worries and stress. When our eyes turn from Jesus and focus on our problems, we might find ourselves in a place where we become discouraged.
Jesus is the only one who can provide an abundant life full of joy and peace. Will you accept this life today?
