Yesterday's Bible Study |
King David wrote today's Psalm, and said that our help is in the Lord who made heaven and earth. David's meaning was that when we need help, we can call out to God and know that He has the power to do something. If He made heaven and earth, nothing is impossible for Him, and we can trust that He will be able to move on our behalf in just the way that we need.
Think about what a great privilege we have as Christians: We can call upon the Lord for help! People who don't know Him must rely on themselves and their own ingenuity, whereas we have the power of almighty God behind us and working for us. When we feel alone or destitute, we have hopeful promises to cling to and can rest in the comforting arms of a mighty savior who loves us dearly and deeply. |

This verse also reminds us to give the Lord credit for helping us all the days of our lives. He has been our constant help and companion. All our accomplishments were made possible through Him, and our futures are secure because they are in His hands.
Today, if you need the Lord to move on your behalf, take some time to sit alone with Him and pray. Tell Him exactly what you need, and why you need it. Recite this verse, remembering that the Lord is your help and you are not alone. In every trial, you can be confident that the Lord will help you, just as He has so many times before and as He helped David centuries ago.
