In this verse in 1 Thessalonians, Paul writes about how the Lord is faithful to help us accomplish what He calls us to do. In the context of this verse, it means that He will help us become sanctified so our spirit, souls, and bodies are blameless. If we struggle or get discouraged in trying to become more like the Lord, we can remember that He is faithful and will work through our lives so we become more and more like Him.
The Lord is faithful in all circumstances. Knowing that He meets us where we are and is good to us encourages us to keep going when things are difficult. When it seems like we will never be able to overcome temptation or stand up against sin in our lives, we can rest in the truth that the Lord will help us. He will show us grace again and again as we turn to Him. |

Yet sometimes we're in a battle against ourselves. We might want to do the right thing, but laziness, fear, or something else gets in the way. When we fail, falling into whatever temptation we're facing, we can feel let down and disappointed in ourselves. After many battles, it might seem like we're a lost cause, hopeless in our fight to be free from sin.
Whenever that happens, we can remember that the battle is not our own--it is the Lord's. We can rest in the sweet truth that even when we are unfaithful to Him, He remains faithful to us, and will never give up on us.
Today, if you feel like a lost cause, call out to the Lord. He is faithful and will help us become more and more like Him each day as we call upon His name.
