Yesterday Afternoon's Bible Study |
"There is no doubt that receiving is a good thing … but Jesus taught that it was a greater blessing to be a giver.
As followers of Jesus, we should have a passion for giving. Often, the first thing that comes to our minds is money. Although giving financially is biblical, and important, it is not the only means of giving to others.
We often devalue opportunities to help, mentor, and invest in others to help them become all that God wants them to be. It's an incredible feeling to know that someone cares about us … enough that he or she is willing to invest precious time in our lives.
Many people have experienced the privilege of gleaning wisdom from older believers. Their insight and godly advice can have an enormous impact on our lives. It is incredible for someone in their later years to understand the value of giving to others in this way." |

The more time we spend with God, the more we have to offer others. He fills us with His love and peace that the world is so desperately seeking. When we, in turn, share with others, we are helping them understand the love and care God has for us.
Look for opportunities to be a giver. The rewards are eternal, and the investment in others is priceless. Giving to others allows us to show our gratitude that people took the time to give to us.
