In this verse in 2 Corinthians, the apostle Paul writes that the Lord can make grace abound so that we are sufficient in all things. He is talking specifically about giving, and this verse indicates that we will always have what we need when we follow the Lord's prompting to give. We don't need to be afraid that following the Lord's command to be generous will leave us destitute; He will supply all of our needs.
Paul writes to assure the Corinthians they can have faith that the Lord will provide for them exactly what they need. In the same way, if the Lord asks us to give generously, we don't need to worry that He will forget about us or not care for us; we know that He will sustain us always. |

The Lord has promised to sustain us in everything. We needn't be anxious about His provision over each and every one of our needs. Indeed, when we obey Him, we can trust that He is going before us in all things. He will make good on all His promises to us; every act of faithful generosity will be rewarded in due time.
Sometimes, however, it is difficult to see how the Lord will provide for us. It might seem as though he is hiding from us--but that is never the case. Indeed, Paul encourages the Corinthians to have confidence in the Lord's faithfulness. He recognizes that the greatest hindrance to obedience is not a desire to go our own way, but instead a refusal to trust that the Lord will fulfill all of the things that He has promised.
Today, if you are struggling to be generous or faithful in an area of your life, remember that the Lord is mighty and always faithful. We don't need to worry when we are seeking Him; we can trust that He will give us exactly what we need when we need it, sustaining us always.
