Afternoon Bible VerseHe that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.
Add to FavoritesIn life, honesty and integrity are two of the most important virtues we can have. By holding our head up high and being a role model for others, we are living like Jesus did. We have a goal in life, to see God in Heaven, and we must stay on that path—even when obstacles are thrown in our way. We must be aware that the devil is trying to put us on a different path—one that is crooked, and with obstacles that make us go a different route. We must not take that path and succumb to evil, succumb to lying, or succumb to deception. For if we go that route, the gates to Heaven will be closed to us. So let's stay on the right path in life. Let's continue to be honest and show integrity and block out the devil so that we may see God's right hand when the time comes.
Father, please don't let me stray from the path that you laid out for me. I know the devil is going to tempt me to take a different path in life. Please give me the strength to avoid his crooked path and instead take the straight one that keeps me honest and virtuous. Allow me to be a role model in life so others may look up to me and follow you just as I have. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world.

The Christian does not think God will love us because we are good, but that God will make us good because He loves us.

Yesterday Afternoon's Bible VerseSubmitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. :

Relationships can be complicated. We often spend more time thinking about how we are being treated than how we are treating others. Why? Because we're human, and as humans, we are selfish by nature. It's one of the areas of our hearts that we continuously have to offer to God and allow Him to help us. But this also provides an opportunity to grow in our relationship with God and with others.
In this afternoon's verse, the apostle Paul shares a key to successful relationships: submission. Culturally, being submissive is often viewed as a sign of weakness. But Jesus set the ultimate example when He submitted His will to the Father and died on the cross.
Submitting to someone means that we serve that person, rather than ourselves. And that begins with serving God.
God had such great love for us that He sacrificed His Son. In return, we serve God with all of our hearts—not out of obligation, but because we are grateful. The love we have received from God compels us to share that love with others.
And if we truly love God, we will love each other. When we submit to each other, we are reflecting the love God has shown us.
Dear God, thank you for demonstrating love to me when I didn't deserve it. Jesus, thank you for serving the world. There are people in my life who can be difficult to serve, but I realize that I'm also far from perfect. Help me show the same grace and love to others that you have shown to me. I want to honor you in how I treat those you love. In Jesus' name, amen.
