In this verse from Psalm 55, we have two promises from God. The first is that when we cast our cares on Him, He will sustain us through everything. The second is that He will sustain us in our faith. Today, we will consider both of these promises and how they affect our lives.
The first promise comes with a condition: we have to cast our burdens on the Lord. It is only after we have surrendered our burdens to the Lord that we experience His sustaining power. We must trust that He knows how to take care of our burdens better than we do. The faster we give our cares and worries over to Him, the faster we'll experience His sustaining power and peace that comes from surrender.
The Lord's sustaining power is felt in a variety of ways. We experience it when we are able to remain calm in a difficult situation. He sustains us in relationships that are trying, or other difficult and challenging circumstances. No matter what we may be facing, God's sustaining power provides exactly what we need at exactly the right time.

This Psalm finishes with a promise that the righteous will never be moved. This means the Lord will help us maintain a relationship with him at all times. The Lord will ensure that we do not lose our salvation. As long as we continue to seek Him, He will keep us safe in His kingdom.
These two promises are a great comfort to us. They remind us that our lives are not our own. We are in the hands of a God who loves us and cares about us more than we will ever understand. He loves us so much that He wants to take our burdens away from us and handle them Himself. When we make the decision to trust Him with our hearts and minds, we will experience His sustaining power in all circumstances. We will be able to have a relationship with Him that is life-giving and exciting.
