Afternoon Bible Study
Every day, we put faith in things all around us. We step into a car that will expect to transport us safely from one place to another. We consume food and beverages that will nourish our bodies. We trust that the things we are doing at our jobs are important and make a difference in the world.

It is ironic that the very things we put so much faith in, and everything we see around us, will one day pass away. God's Word, however, will not.

Our world changes by the second, but God's words have remained the same since before time began. This is an unchangeable, unfathomable truth. God's Word has the power to change our lives and help us overcome temptation. It not only shows us our sin, it points us to Jesus, the One who can cleanse us.

We can have confidence that even in tough circumstances, God's Word is true. When we face the pressures and heartaches of life, our feelings and thoughts can appear to be reality. But the only truth that will ever be stable is God's truth.

We should glean every truth we can from the Bible and ask the Holy Spirit to bring revelation in our life through the Word. As we reap the benefits of studying God's Word, we know it will impact our lives for eternity.
Afternoon Prayer
Dear God, where would I be without your Word? It helps me understand who you are and how to know you more. Please bring about change in my life as I study the Bible. Forgive me for not spending time in your Word and for taking it for granted. Help me grow in this area of my relationship with you. In Jesus's name, amen.

Yesterday Afternoon's Bible Verse
"And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of."
Genesis 28:15 (KJV)

Yesterday Afternoon's Bible Study
"The Bible is full of promises that God has made to His people. The story of Jacob in Genesis gives an account of God's incredible promise to Jacob.

Jacob was the son of Isaac, who was the son of Abraham. For his entire life, Jacob had known that God would bless his bloodline. God repeated the promise over and over again throughout the Old Testament. He would give Jacob's descendants the promised land, and they would experience God's blessings. This was His promise. He only needed to say it once, but He reassured Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob that He was faithful to His promise.

As descendants of Abraham, this promise applies to us. God will never leave us. No matter what happens, He is watching over us through every step of our lives.
