Yesterday Afternoon's Bible Study |
"Second Thessalonians is an epistle (letter) written by Paul to the people of the Greek city of Thessalonica to clarify his earlier teaching. It wasn't uncommon, even in Paul's day, for there to be confusion and false teaching, especially when end times events were concerned.
Paul cared about the people. He offered encouraging words and support for followers of Jesus because he knew being a Christian wasn't easy. Paul and many others had suffered persecution for their faith. It would have been easier to go back to their former way of living than to keep going on the Christian path, knowing that the road would be long and hard.
