Yesterday Afternoon's Bible Study |
"We tend to be worriers. We worry about our families, jobs, friends, money, needs, safety the list goes on. We want to be in control and make sure everything our loved ones need is taken care of. Somehow, we believe that worrying about those things can make it happen.
What-ifs can take over our minds if we aren't careful. They can cause us to react instead of turning to God. Worries and what-ifs can rob us of a peaceful night's sleep and leave us feeling exhausted and helpless.
This afternoon's verse in Philippians says that we should present all of our requests to God. In exchange for our petitions, we are given His peace. This isn't just an okay feeling that happens when we stop allowing ourselves to worry. This is a heavenly peace that is beyond our comprehension and it can ours just for the asking.
